What a Plasmacyte Is
A plasmacyte, also known as a plasma cell, is a type of white blood cell that plays a key role in your immune system. These cells develop from B cells, another kind of immune cell, after they have been activated by encountering germs or other harmful substances. Once activated, plasmacytes produce large amounts of antibodies, which are proteins that help your body identify and neutralize infections.
